This session provides school counselors with a practical overview of the research-based Harmony Curriculum, including Everyday Practices, lessons and activities, and resources to support students at both Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels. Participants will explore how to use Harmony to build belonging, strengthen student connections, and support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The session also includes a guided look at the Harmony Online Learning Portal, with tools and resources counselors can begin using right away.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the key components of the Harmony Curriculum, including Everyday Practices (Harmony Goals, Meet Up, and Buddy Up) and the structure of lessons and activities.
  • Explore how Harmony resources can be used to support students at both Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels.
  • Navigate the Harmony Online Learning Portal to locate tools and resources for immediate use in classroom and small-group settings.

About the Presenter

Marie Weller is an Implementation Specialist with Harmony Academy at National University and a former elementary school counselor with over 35 years of experience in education. She has served as a classroom teacher, school counselor, and out-of-school-time director, bringing a well-rounded perspective to supporting the whole child.

In her current role, Marie partners with schools and districts across the country to implement Harmony, helping educators build belonging, strengthen relationships, and support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs. She is passionate about providing practical, easy-to-use strategies that can be applied in both classroom and small-group settings.

Marie is also the co-author of the Cranium Critters series, which uses engaging characters and storytelling to help children (and adults) understand how their brains work. Through her work, she strives to make brain-based concepts accessible, relatable, and actionable for educators, students, and families.
